Artist Network Studio Day
As exciting and rewarding as an artistic career can be, it can be quite isolating, as many artists work from their own homes or in single person studios. To help combat the loneliness of solo working ,the Usher Gallery will be running the Artist Network studio day- an opportunity to book a table in the Clore Learning Room and work alongside other artists for a day.
Up to 5 tables will be available to book for a 10am-4pm* working slot. Selected tools will be available for use, including our printing press and there is access to a sink.
Please note: Unfortunately we cannot accommodate the use of oil paints, organic materials, pyrography or heat related tools/materials, resins or chemical processes, or any other tools/materials that create vapours or smells that will affect other users of the gallery. We also require that work created in the space be contained to the dimensions of the table (182cm x 76cm) so as not affect members of the public or other artists using the space.
*Artists must have vacated the room by closing at 4pm.
What to expect:
This workshop is taking place in the Clore Learning room at the Usher Gallery. The Clore learning room is accessible by the entrance of the Usher. To find the Clore learning room, enter the Usher gallery by the glass extension entrance and go to the main door on the left. There are ramps and wide doors to accommodate wheelchairs, and a disabled access toilet oppositive the Clore learning room door, behind the reception desk.
This session will run from 10:00-16:00.
In this event you will be invited to create artwork and socialise with Artists and members of the public.
This may be challenging if you have difficulty with groups of people or working alongside other people, a break out space will be available. People will be talking out loud so it may be noisy, to help you with this we have noise cancelling head phones and fidget toys available.
