Artist Network at the Usher
Are you feeling stuck in your art’s practice? Do you want outside perspective into the direction your art is taking? This month’s Artist Network session may be just what you need.
This event will be a group critique, inviting artist’s to bring in work that they feel comfortable showing to and discussing with other artists. Mediated by Gallery staff, this is a chance to hear from potential audiences and get true, objective feedback.
Critiques can be a fantastic way to push your artistic practice further, to explore new ideas and hear interpretation that you may not have considered. Bring a piece of work and an open mind.
This session welcomes artists at all stages of their career, with varying degrees of art education, professionals and hobbyists.
*Please note that critiques can feel vulnerable and intrusive if approached in the wrong way. All critiques offered must be constructive. Gallery Staff will be present to ensure this*
What to expect:
This talk is taking place in the Clore Learning room at the Usher Gallery. The Clore learning room is accessible by the entrance of the Usher. To find the Clore learning room, enter the Usher gallery by the glass extension entrance and go to the main door on the left. There are ramps and wide doors to accommodate wheelchairs, and a disabled access toilet oppositive the Clore learning room door, behind the reception desk.
This session will run from 17:00-19:00.
In this event you will be invited to talk to and listen to other artists. You will be invited to socialise with other artists and creatives.
This may be challenging if you have difficulty with groups of people, a break out space will be available. People will be talking out loud so it may be noisy, to help you with this we have noise cancelling head phones and fidget toys available.
Here at Lincoln Museum and Usher Gallery, we welcome all participants; if you still aren’t sure whether this workshop is accessible for you or someone you care for, please email us at lincolnmuseum@lincolnshire.gov.uk and we can discuss your access requirements
